We are looking for Volunteers in North Dublin, Meath, and the Midlands!
Le Chéile works with young people who offend or are at risk of offending and their families, helping them to make positive changes in their lives. Passionate, trained volunteer Mentors, aged 20 and over, build trusting and supportive relationships with Mentees, which we know has a significant positive impact on their self-confidence, their engagement in activities and their sense of hopefulness. Could you join our team?
Mentors meet weekly with a young person or parent/carer for a chat and a bite to eat or to try something new. All out of pocket expenses are covered. Typically, a mentoring session lasts between 2-3 hours and takes place in the local community. Mentors are asked for a minimum commitment of one year.
Due to demand, we are particularly looking for male Mentors in North Dublin, Laois, Offaly and Kildare.
Mentors who volunteer with Le Chéile have an opportunity to:
- Encourage change in the life of a young person/parent
- Be a positive and inspiring role model
- Experience new opportunities and share their stories and skills
- Develop practical experience in the social care, youth work and youth justice field
- Develop their personal and professional skill set
- Make a difference in a young person’s/parent’s life
Volunteering is flexible and can take place during the week, evenings or weekends. Our recruitment process is thorough and includes an application form, interview, reference checks, vetting and induction training.
No experience is necessary but a positive, flexible and reliable approach with good interpersonal skills is required. Full training, supervision and ongoing support are provided.
Closing Date: 27th October 2017
