Restorative Justice
The Le Chéile Restorative Justice Pilot Project is a new and exciting initiative which was established in Limerick city in 2010.
Restorative Justice is a “victim-sensitive response to criminal offending, which through engagement with those affected by crime, aims to make amends for the harm that has been caused to victims and communities and which facilitates offender rehabilitation and integration into society” (National commission on Restorative Justice, 2009).
The Le Chéile’s Restorative Justice Project will be using four models of restorative justice in the roll out of the project:
- Reparation
- Victim / Offender Mediation
- Victim Impact Panels
- Restorative Justice Conference
